How to reverse genetic hair loss

People facing genetic hair loss desperately look for a solution to control it and regain lost hair. Hair transplant surgery is considered as the best way to reverse genetic hair loss thus far. The unmatched advantages of the procedure give it a respected place among all other treatments which people opt for to either cure hair loss or camouflage it. It is amazing how a hair transplant gives back you natural looking hair for the rest of your life on an area that has almost lost its ability to grow hair. People all across the world affected from genetic hair loss prefer hair transplant over all other available options because so far it is the only procedure which regrows hair permanently.

The procedure of hair transplant
A hair transplant surgery does not increase number of your hair; rather it relocates some of your existing baldness resistant hair follicles from an area where they are in abundance to a bald patch. The first step of the surgery is “graft harvesting”. The surgeon harvests hair follicles from the back or the sides of the scalp (donor site) and collects them in an artificial medium to ensure their safety outside human body. Different techniques are used for graft harvesting. Two most common methods include Follicular Unit Transplant (FUT) and Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). Then, the surgeon prepares bald area by creating tiny holes in it. Each hair follicle is then carefully placed in these holes crafted in the recipient site. This completes the surgery.
It is a minimally invasive surgery performed with local anesthesia on outpatient basis. The surgery usually takes 4 to 8 hours for its completion, depending upon the extent of baldness and the number of grafts transplanted.
The recovery process:
Recovery from hair transplant is a little time taking, but completely safe and does not involve any complications or side effects, given you follow your surgeon’s post-op instructions carefully. Stick to your surgeon’s dos and don’ts and you will be up and back to work maximum by the 5th day of the surgery. The newly transplanted grafts usually take 7 to 10 days to anchor themselves at the recipient site and develop their own blood supply. After that, the follicle initially sheds any hair attached to it and undergoes state of dormancy for 4 to 6 weeks. After that hair tips spring out of the treated area and the hair keep on growing and multiplying like the rest of your hair. These hairs do not need any special care or maintenance. You can wash, brush or comb them and make whichever hairstyle you like.
Potential side effects and complications
As stated above, hair transplant is a safe surgery, but after all it is a surgery that does involve some degree of complications. The good thing is that these complications are all mild and temporary. Some of them are listed below:
·         Like all other surgeries hair transplant also causes swelling in treated area and forehead, which disappears soon. Consult your surgeon if swelling turns to be painful.
·         Itching in the treated area is a common side effect. It is due to tiny scabs that are formed around the roots of the hair. You must not scratch your head as it may dislodge freshly transplanted hair follicles.
·         Some patients also experience hiccups after surgery, but this is not very common.
·         Scars come inevitably with hair transplant. Type of scar depends upon the method used for graft extraction. FUT causes a linear scar at the donor site, whereas FUE results in tiny pinprick scars.
Hair transplant is a unique surgery which gives you lifelong hair and due to this reason it is considered the best way to reverse genetic hair loss. It is amazing how a onetime surgery gives you a youthful appearance for the rest of your life.

Stop Hair Loss with Balanced Diet

If you are wondering how to stop hair loss effectively and safely then you have reached the right place! Believe me treating hair loss is not that difficult. Just dig down to the cause of hair fall and you are half way done. Let me make it simpler for you. There is a vast variety of factors that can contribute to excessive hair fall, including poor or unbalanced diet, stress, hormonal imbalance, illness and medications. Always remember that hair fall that does not cause bald patches on your head or does not result in general thinning of hair, it is natural and you should not worry about it. Experts believe shedding up to 100 hair strands a day is normal and should not bother an individual. Take hair fall seriously only when you see a bald patch on your scalp or you feel an overall thinning of hair.
Among all other hair fall reasons, poor dietary habits are the most prevalent and commonly found cause of hair loss. People eat what they like not what their bodies need and as a result health suffers. In fact, poor health means week hair and eventually hair loss. Taking balanced diet is the best way to control hair loss or to prevent any hair loss situation in future.
Incorporating foods that can make hair grow longer and become strong is the best way to treat hair fall. Here are some foods that are considered magical for treating hair loss.

Fish, eggs and beans
Hairs are made of proteins, so it makes sense to eat protein-rich diet to make hair stronger and healthier. Fish, chicken, brewer’s yeast, calf’s liver, eggs, yogurt, almonds and beans are rich with proteins and low in bad fats so they are best for hair. Stay away from high-fat diets because they increase testosterone levels and as a result cause hair loss.
Raisins
Iron is the most essential part of hemoglobin, the part of blood that carries oxygen to body cells and tissues. Sufficient level of hemoglobin in blood means proper blood supply to scalp and as a result healthy hair. Dry fruits like raisins and cherry juice are full of iron. Eggs, dates, dark green and leafy vegetables are also packed with iron. Iron enriched foods must be coupled with vitamin C enriched foods because vitamin C improves the absorption of iron in blood. It is found in oranges, strawberries and lemons.
Bean sprouts
Bean sprouts provide silica that promotes hair growth and prevents hair loss. Silica is also found in the skin of red and green peppers and potatoes and helps in adsorption of vitamins and minerals. If you eat these foods uncooked, it means you are getting more nutritional value because cooked food is always low in nutritional value as compared to raw food.
Seafood
Zinc deficiency is often found to be the reason behind hair loss especially in men. Zinc is the key resource in many body functions like cell reproduction, hormonal balance and all body functions that promote hair growth. Low zinc means under activity of glands that are attached to hair follicles and, in turn weak hair follicles and weak hairs. Red meat, poultry, oysters, shrimp, and nuts are rich with zinc. However, increased zinc intake can lead to hair fall, so if you are on zinc enriched diet, keep yourself from zinc supplements.
A Balanced Diet
The best diet is balanced diet, diet that is enriched with correct proportions of nutrients needed by the body. Eat chicken, seafood, whole grains, vegetables, fruits and nuts to ensure a healthy body that will give you strong and healthy hair.

Permanent hairline restoration option

One of the most common cosmetic concerns faced by both men and women is hair loss. Hair thinning and baldness are often associated with aging, but nowadays boys as young as in their late teens are struggling with receding hairlines and balding crowns. If you are also battling a never ending war against hair fall, this is probably high time to take some drastic measures. There are countless treatment options available to regrow lost hair, ranging from natural remedies to oral and topical medications to injectables (ACell /PRP Hair Loss Treatment). But there is only one treatment by far that offers permanent hairline restoration and that is a Hair Transplant Surgery.
What is a Hair Transplant Surgery?
A hair transplant surgery involves moving healthy hair follicles from an area with a thicker hair profile to an area with hair thinning or baldness. The technique does not help you grow new hairs, instead using the existing hair on your scalp to produce a natural look on the forehead and a thicker and denser crown area.

Techniques used for hair transplantation:
Two techniques are used for surgical hair transplantation, the Follicular Unit Transplant Method and the Follicular Unit Extraction method. Both the techniques differ only in ways of follicle extraction. The transplantation phase for them is same. Follicular Unit Transplant (FUT), also known as strip method transplant, involves cutting a linear strip of healthy hair bearing skin, which is further dissected under a powerful microscope to obtain grafts for transplantation. Follicular Unit Extraction, on the other hand, uses a specially designed punch tool to directly extract hair follicles from the donor area, without needing any cutting or stitching of the skin.
Graft implantation:
After extracting the required number of grafts using either of the FUT and FUE techniques, the surgeon moves on to transplantation phase. The recipient area is first prepared by crafting small incisions at specific angles to add a natural look. The grafts are then carefully placed in these small holes to complete the surgery.
Recovery period:
An average hair transplant surgery requires extraction and implantation of 1000-1500 grafts. So, you can very well imagine that recovery from the surgery can never be an overnight process. It takes over a month to completely recover from a hair transplant surgery. However, it takes 8 to 12 months before you will be able to see transplanted hair growing normally. Your patience and cooperation is the key to a successful hair transplant.
Why hair transplant surgery’s results are permanent?

The hair follicles used for transplantation are selected carefully from the baldness resistant areas to make sure that they don’t fall prey to androgens again. This is why a hair transplant surgery is regarded as permanent hairline restoration option.
